Waste and Resource Mangement
Services:
Many industrial cleaning operations require large volumes
of hot water to deliver results, an exercise which can pose
logistical and safety challenges. Our in-house water boiler
is able to produce the hot water needed to support your
cleaning projects safely and efficiently.
Water has been used for cleaning purposes for thousands of years.
In today’s modern and industrialised world, cleaning services are being
demanded faster and more efficiently across a widening spectrum
of surfaces, equipment and facilities.
Hot water, in particular, is a hugely effective industrial cleaning tool
with many advantages:
• It is efficient and can produce superior results at speed
• It is safe and hygienic due to reduced bacteria and virus presence
• It is more sustainable because it requires less water to deliver quality
outcomes
Our in-house water boiler is able to produce large quantities of hot
water to support your cleaning projects in an efficient, safe and
sustainable manner.
There are many industrial use cases for hot water cleaning. For example,
in the food industry where pipes may have been blocked by fats;
in the sugar industry where molasses is difficult to mobilise at lower
temperatures; or in the chemical and petrochemical industry where
specific cleaning projects require hot water.
Whatever the need, we are here to help. We are also able to dose hot
water batches with inhibitors, detergents, demulsifiers or degreasers
as per your project’s requirements.
Hot water can be used in a variety of industrial cleaning projects. The most common use is to clear away the build-up of grease, oils and fats from equipment such as piping. Other use cases include cleaning of floors, agricultural machinery and oil tanks, among others.
There are many advantages of hot water cleaning, the first being that it can reduce water consumption by 40% versus cold water cleaning. This is because hot water cuts through greases and fats far more effectively than pressurised cold water, saving both time and resources. Hot water also naturally kills bacteria colonies and germs, and can combat viruses such as COVID-19 which can be made inactive by exposure to high temperatures.
Hot water can reduce the requirement for chemicals in that it can be sufficient for dirt or grease removal. However, if your cleaning operation requires sanitisation or disinfection, then appropriate disinfectants will still need to be used, although in lesser quantities. We are able to dose hot water batches with a range of inhibitors, detergents, demulsifiers and/or degreasers.
