Waste and Resource Mangement
Services:
Aqueous simply means of or containing water.
Our bulk aqueous waste services benefit from the
latest treatment technologies to remove or isolate
hazardous materials and reduce environmental
impact with innovative reuse solutions.
Organic and inorganic substances added to water can create a mixed
waste called aqueous waste. These liquid wastes are treated to reduce, remove or isolate any hazardous substances.
M. Gaze’s waste management facility is equipped to treat a wide range of
bulk aqueous wastes. Some of the state-of-the-art technologies we use at
our dedicated waste management facility to ensure successful treatment
include a dissolve air flotation (DAF) plant, reverse osmosis ultra-filtration
plant, bio-digestor, centrifuges and reed bed systems.
Some of the bulk aqueous wastes we are highly experienced in dealing
with include:
• Interceptor wastes
• Bund and pit waters
• Glycol and water solutions
• Tank washings
• Food process washings
• Brewery wastes
• Detergent solutions
By decontaminating aqueous waste, the by-products can be reused in certain processes. At M. Gaze we treat input steams to an extremely high quality so that they are suitable for reuse in our industrial cleaning applications or for clean-water discharge.
For a water-based solution to become a waste it must contain organic or inorganic substances. Even the smallest amounts of external substances can make mixed wastes. For example, a solution containing 94% water and 6% methanol is classified as a mixed waste.
There are multiple criteria that can cause an aqueous solution to be classified as a waste. Solutions must not be mixed with scintillation fluids and they must contain less than 0.1% chelating agents. The key criteria to consider are toxicity, water solubility, pH and biodegradability.

Our friendly team are waiting to help.
The safety of our customers, staff, suppliers and the general public is of the highest importance to us. All our services and site operations are carried out in a Covid-19 secure manner. Staff are issued with hand sanitiser, face masks and guidance on the risks of Covid-19 transmission and how to reduce these risks.
Our operations will continue to monitor, follow and adapt to Government and Public Health England advice, and we work with an unwavering focus on
ensuring the safety of all our stakeholders.
