M.Gaze & Co. Ltd is a family-run pillar of the Norfolk region, specialising in comprehensive waste management, industrial services and environmental solutions.
We own and operate a fully licensed waste transfer station and compost facility, treat hazardous and non-hazardous waste, provide industrial cleaning and site support services—including specialist fabrication, robotics, chemical treatment, lagoon desludging and high‑pressure jetting—24/7, 365 days a year.

CORE RESPONSIBILTIES:

  • Operating, driving and manoeuvring rigid and articulated vehicles and tankers.
  • Understand and follow daily work patterns and verbal or written instructions.
  • Identify and report vehicle defects following a daily visual inspection plus equipment and accessories (including pumps, valves, tanks, hoses and couplings).
  • Use company provided mobile phones and in-cab technology for navigation and the completion of all customer and regulatory paperwork.
  • Communication and customer service skills, responding courteously and effectively to customers.
  • Tanker operations ensuring safe handling and transportation of a wide range of hazardous and non-hazardous materials and products
  • Occasional voluntarily overnight trips
  • Operation of curtain sided trailer
    • Responsibility for load security
    • Labelling drummed/palletised waste
    • Assisting with secure destruction of goods for disposal
    • Completing relevant regulatory paperwork
  • Ensure that all activity is co-ordinated in accordance with relevant company guidelines and statutory regulations.
  • Attend team brief / safety meetings and training as required.
  • Ensure high standards of housekeeping are maintained with all areas of responsibility
  • Carry emergency tankering works.
  • High pressure water jetting works (on/off site) as per training provided.
  • Flexibility to work out of core working hours
  • You will be required to work outdoors in all weathers and conditions.
  • High risk confined space works following training provided.
  • Driving long or short distances – planning routes with managers (adapting routes on the go in response to traffic and road conditions)
  • Supervising or helping to load and unload goods
  • Manual handling tasks – providing labourer duties when required.
  • Report accidents, near misses, property damage and environmental incidents to the Operations or Office Manager.
  • Wear company provided PPE, follow risk assessments and method statements and report any unsafe conditions and defects.
  • Complete specific documentation required by both legislation and corporate procedures in relation to drivers’ hours and WTD.
  • Comply with all statutory requirements related to Road Traffic Act and other relevant legislation connected to the vehicle, driver’s hours and digital Tachograph records, vehicle weight limits and speed limits.
  • Comply with all relevant ADR/Hazardous goods legislation requirements.
  • Comply with Company standard operating procedures.
  • Upkeep CPC training to ensure renewal of driver qualifications.
  • Undertake ad-hoc duties as required and display a flexible approach to working times and shifts requirements.
  • Comply with all reasonable management requests and operate to a high professional standard reporting any accident or incident and promptly completing all other company documentation
